Steve writes, ” A recovering social worker in his past life, Bart {Steve} has resided in Lake County since 1993, but has so far remained undetected. At about the age of twelve, he was introduced to “FATE” magazine by a maiden aunt and has since been fascinated by the strange, abnormal, unusual, and unlikely. A one-time member of the Epigraphic Society, he claims some original work in the field of archeological anomaly. He has previously published in such diverse journals as “Analog Science Fiction”, “Fate”, and “Ancient American”. His experience as a social worker taught him there is no such thing as an ordinary human being.” “Chapel Perilous” is an exploration of dangerous states of mind. Ground Hog Day…I forget which type of weather foretells what kind of winter/spring, but it’s raining buckets in Lakeport and [for California] darn cold! When I was a teacher of kids in trouble, we spent an entire quarter watching and discussing the movie “Ground Hog Day”. We concluded that actor Bill Murry portrayed every emotional response to life’s stormy weather in that intriguing film. Here at Watershed Books we are excited about Sandra Wade, poet laureate of Lake County who will preside over a writer’s studio here on Friday, February 22nd from 3:30 until 5:30. Sandra has just released her spoken word cd, “From There to Here” and will be sharing her works and discussing with attendees her creative process. Refreshments too. Join us.
